Addison Deanna Holloway

On Wednesday April 10, 2013, Addison Deanna Holloway was born. We are so excited have her in our family and just love watching her. Her birth was a wonderful experience and completely different than Ethan's birth. My water broke around 2 am early wednesday morning and our neighbor Camie came over to stay with Ethan until my dad could arrive. Unfortunately the weather that morning was a little messy with snow, but he made it eventually. I had a c-section with Ethan, but wanted to attempt a vbac with this birth and was so happy to be able to. I was put on low-dose pitocin mid-morning and began experience more intense and regular contractions. I requested an epidural and progressed rather quickly from about 3 cm to 9 cm in about 1.5 hours. After I reach 10 cm, we waited until baby dropped a little lower in the birth canal and I felt constant pressure and an urge to push. I pushed for over an hour, but once she was crowning it was maybe 2 or 3 pushes later and she was out. It such a memorable experience and one I certainly will never forget. Anthony was there and supported me the entire time. We also had two amazing nurses and a doctor who were so supportive the entire time.

Hoppy Easter!

Ethan at the Nature Center's Easter party. We got to dye our eggs using natural food coloring, like beets, berries and tumeric. There was an egg hunt outside, real bunnies to play with and a craft project. For Easter, the 3 of us enjoyed a quiet day at home. We made ham, scalloped potatoes and asparagus for lunch and worked on getting some final baby items ready. Only 15 days to go!
