is it august already?

It seems as though the slowness that comes with summer has crept into keeping up this blog as well! We have had a very relaxing summer thus far- enjoying both the hotness of July and the cooler recent days. July was very busy for us. We left July 1st for Titusville, FL to stay with Anthony's Aunt Dwyla and Uncle David. We had a family get-together there over the 4th of July. It was really great to see the whole family, many of whom we haven't seen since Ethan was just 6 months old! Anthony had to head back to MN early as he was headed to Las Vegas for work (tough I know) but Ethan and I extended our stay.

After 8 days of beaches, pool time and even seeing the space shuttle launch, we left FL with Anthony's mom, sister and our nieces to return to Charlotte. We stayed with them for a few days before flying back to MN with our oldest niece Amber! This was a trip that we had been planning for a while, and it was her first time flying alone (on the way back). We had such a wonderful time having her in MN and can't wait for her to visit again.

The other big news for our family is that I was able to leave my job at the end of this past school year in June. We had been working toward this goal so that I could not only be home with Ethan, but also use this time to work towards my Master's Degree in Social Work. I am so enjoying being home and am very grateful for this opportunity.

Next week Thursday, the Holloway's and Krebs' families will be heading "up north" for our 2nd annual cabin getaway. Last year we enjoyed Labor Day weekend near Nisswa, MN and this year we will be staying on Eagle Lake near Detroit Lakes, MN. We are looking forward to a great long weekend!
