Our Little Ham

So we thought it would be funny to put all of Ethan's stuffed animals around him one night and found out that our little guy loves the camera.
What a ham!

Well it seems as if overnight our little guy has developed his own little personality! He is this goofy, happy little boy that we just can't get enough of. We celebrated Anthony's birthday on Friday night by going out to dinner with our neighbors. We reserved the "kitchen" table and had the best seat in the house. We even scored a free entree from the head chef thanks to Anthony's sweet-talking.
On Saturday I sent Ethan and Daddy out on some errands while I threw together the last-minute details of a surprise party. Anthony had no idea and was quite pleased with his gift, a new Weber grill from Ethan and Me. We will be eating well this summer! We enjoyed a great afternoon with family and friends.
My family finally got to see how hilarious it is to feed Ethan. It's funny because all the parenting books tell you that your baby will let you know when they are full, or if they aren't interested. Well if Ethan isn't interested in something we have yet to find that something! This obviously does not apply to our son, who already has his mouth open, ready for the next bite before you can scoop it up. He has learned to drink from his sippy-cup this week and watching him do this is just too cute.
We will be heading to St. Augustine, FL on June 13th for Anthony's Grandmother's Birthday. We are very excited to see everyone and for them to meet Ethan. I picked out Ethan some adorable swimming trunks and can't wait to to see those little toes in the sand!
Take care,
Elizabeth

I'm kinda a big shot now...

I tried to get a picture of him sucking his toes, but he kept looking up at the camera ;)

So right before the 6 month milestone arrived (May 17th), Ethan decided it was time to sit up. He loves the new position seems quite proud of himself. He also has become so interactive, which of course is so much fun for us as parents. He gives eskimo kisses and also imitates things like sticking out his tongue and shaking his head. He continues to eat very well and has now tried prunes and squash!
We are loving the warm weather, (can't believe the record-breaking heat though!) and getting outside as much as possible. I am preparing for the end of the school year and finding myself a little sad to say goodbye to my preschoolers. It was a great year and I am very happy to be back teaching this age-group.  Only 10 more days of school- I can't believe it!

Take care :)

Bananas, Sweet Potatoes & Carrots Oh My!

Here are some recent pictures of Ethan :)

Ok, so I just had to post this video. Not only is Ethan just adorable eating his bananas for the first time, but watch his daddy's face with each bite. I almost fell on the floor laughing so hard. This was Anthony's very first time ever feeding a baby, so I am glad we captured this special moment :)

Ethan is getting so big, I cannot believe that we are almost to the half year mark already! He is such a happy and easy-going baby. As you can see from the video, he is eating baby foods now. We were planning on waiting until he reached 6 months, but we had a child that was so obviously ready to try solids that it was just cruel not to offer them 2 weeks early ;) This child loves it all- he has tried bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, apples, and rice cereal. The only part he doesn't like is when it's gone! (though I have distracted him with this silly little cheer I made up:)
This past weekend for Mother's Day, the three of us had breakfast together and then went to the Minnesota Zoo. It was a little chilly outside in the morning so we walked through the indoor exhibits. Ethan just loved looking at everything. We put him in his sling in a new "explorer position"  with him facing out and he just took it all in! Anthony picked out this beautiful purse compact for me with the words "beau vaus" (beautiful you) engraved on the front. I also received my first Ethan-made mother's day card with his little hand print in it- too cute. What a perfect 1st Mother's Day!

Take Care,
Elizabeth

An 'egg'cellent weekend

Ethan and Grandpa
Check out my cute sweater-vest

Ethan reading to himself ;)

This weekend we hosted Easter dinner at our house. Ethan enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Krebs as well as Uncle Derek and Bryant. (Anthony and I enjoyed their visit as well :)

Ethan has definitely learned who his parents are and lets us know that he is not happy when we leave a room anymore. He has also starting reaching out or lean to one of us as the other one is holding him. This of course melts our heart :) He also absolutely loves being read to, and this will soothe him to no end. Our current faves: The Pigeon Has Feelings Too, Daddy Kisses, and Brown Bear Brown Bear. Ethan even attended his first story-time at the library and did quite well. He was a little jealous of all the walkers and crawlers though because there were much cooler toys for them- soon enough right? :)

Take care
